The Viktualienmarkt is an experience for all the senses and the center of culinary activity in Munich. For over 200 years, merchants have sold a wide variety of food and specialties here in the city center.

Marienplatz
This is the site of Munich's City Hall, which is famous for its carillon. Every day at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., visitors here can listen to 43 bells and watch 32 spinning figures in the building's central tower.

Old St. Peter's
The tower of St. Peter's, right on Marienplatz, is one of the most popular vantage points in the city. After climbing more than 300 narrow steps, you can enjoy the view over Munich.

Olympia Park and Tower
Outside the city is the 85-hectare Olympic Park. In the middle of the park is the Olympic Tower, which at 291 meters is the second tallest building in Bavaria. The three viewing platforms offer a breathtaking view of Munich, the park as well as the Olympic Village.

English Garden
