KOKOBE EXHIBITION "REISE INS INNERE"
August 4 - October 16, 2023
KoKoBe Wuppertal is proud to present its second exhibition in close cooperation with the artist Gisela Kettner under the title “Reise ins Innere” (Journey to the Inside). As an outreach center for people with intellectual disabilities, KoKoBe emphasizes the promotion and presentation of creative forms of expression.
The exhibition will take place until October 16, 2023 in the premises of the Wuppertaler Färberei and is conveniently accessible by public transport from our Flemings Hotel Wuppertal-Central.

EXHIBITION "MENSCH, MYTHOS, WELT"

Pablo Picasso and Max Beckmann are pioneers of modern art. For the first time, the exhibition at the Von-der-Heydt Museum presents a selection of their works in a joint retrospective. Although they probably never met, both artists illustrate in their paintings how the turbulent times in which they lived shaped them, but also opened up new perspectives. Discover similarities and differences in their paintings.

TRISTAN AND ISOLDE - WUPPERTAL OPERA PREMIERE
October 22, 2023
The Wuppertal Opera will host the premiere of the opera Tristan und Isolde on October 22. In this romance, many obstacles are placed in the way of the lovers. They were, in fact, not supposed to come together at all.
Richard Wagner's musical drama has three acts. Settle back and enjoy the roughly four hours of this special love story, just as the audience did at the premiere on June 10, 1865 at the National Theater in Munich.

“NELKEN" - A PLAY BY PINA BAUSCH
January 27 - February 4, 2024
Ten years ago, the play about love was performed in Lisbon, Salzburg, London and even in Wuppertal. It is back again: "Nelken” (Carnations), the most performed piece by Pina Bausch.
Countless pink carnations cover the floor of the Wupptertal Opera House, as the dancers glide across the floor creating a spectacular wave. First, all is quiet…then, it rumbles louder and louder until, finally, all is quiet once again. Every emotion is stirred in the process.
